Scarsdale High Students Win Science Awards

Nine students won awards at a science event earlier this month.

sophomores shined at a recent science competition.

Nine students, part of the science research group, participated in the First Annual Westlake Invitational: A Sophomore Science Symposium, Co-Director of Science Research Beth Schoenbrun said in an announcement.

"We applaud all of our students who presented their work at this event,"  Schoenbrun said

The event took place earlier this month at Westlake High School. About 218 students from 19 local high schools took part in this event.

"I would also like to thank the six graduating senior students, who gave up a very busy weekend to help out," Schoenbrun said. "Their sense of responsibility towards their fellow sophomores should be duly noted."

The Scarsdale High School students won the following awards:


Behavior: Zubin Koticha-1st place; Brett Pogostin-1st place

Environmental and Plant Sciences: Brian Beitler-1st place

Medicine/Health: Cindy Du-1st place; Sam Huang-1st place
