Dobbs Ferry's FaTye in The Music Man at the Westchester Broadway Theatre

July 5 – August 26, 2012

[Dobbs Ferry] FaTye takes to the stage in the
Family Theatre Company’s upcoming production of THE MUSIC MAN at the Westchester Broadway Theatre, July 5th through August 26th. FaTye plays the role of Oliver Hix, a member of the barbershop quartet, in the classic musical.

When fast-talking traveling salesman Harold

Hill comes marching into town, it means trouble in River City. While his goal is to con the good townspeople out of their money, Marian the Librarian has other plans.  Wicked, funny, warm, romantic, and touching, THE MUSIC MAN appeals to all ages with the familiar tunes of "Seventy-Six Trombones, "Gary, Indiana," and "'Till There Was You."

Based on a story by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey, THE MUSIC MAN, became a hit in 1957 on Broadway, winning five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and running for 1,375 performances. The cast album won the first Grammy Award for Best Original Cast Album and was
number one on the Billboard charts for 245 weeks. The show's success led to a popular 1962 film adaptation, a 2003 television remake, and a second Broadway
revival in 2000.

THE MUSIC MAN at the Westchester Broadway
Theatre is directed by John J. Fanelli of The Family Theatre Company.  Fanelli grew up in Dobbs Ferry and has many
family members who still reside in town. The Music Man is next in his long line of classic Broadway shows featuring regional talent. Prior to FaTye’s role as Oliver Hix, FaTye starred as Jim in Big River.  Other performances at the Westchester Broadway Theatre include: Hairspray, Seussical The Musical, Peter Pan, The Who’s Tommy and the Cab Calloway Awards Ceremony.

The Westchester Broadway Theatre is offering
special discounted ticket prices for all performances of THE MUSIC MAN. Tickets range from $47.00 to $52.00 plus tax and include dinner, parking and the show, all in convenient Elmsford. Both matinee and evening performances are available. For the show schedule and tickets, call Westchester Broadway Theatre at (914) 592-2222 or visit

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
