From the Chamber of Commerce:

On Tuesday, June 19, Joan Hamburg, veteran talk show hostess of WOR-AM Radio fame, will be in Scarsdale, shopping with about 150 of her friends and loyal listeners.

This is the "Destination Scarsdale" promotion we have been talking about for weeks.  You may have heard Joan on today's broadcast, raving about stores in Scarsdale and what a wonderful place it is to live and shop.  Her broadcast last Wednesday was the prompt for many folks to attend Taste of Scarsdale.

For those of you who are participating in the WOR on air promotion, you are already appearing on the WOR website, and Joan is talking about you on air during her weekday shows.

Now, Joan is looking for you to provide her with discount coupons or promotions she can give away on the radio during her broadcast from Chat.   And, by the way, it's not too late for you too to become a participant in the promotion.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
