WILC hosts Navigator for Affordable Care Act Assistance

If you have questions about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or need help with the application process, Natalia Diaz, a New York State trained and certified Navigator, can help answer your questions and familiarize you with the health care options available.

Westchester Independent Living Center (WILC), a non-profit advocacy and resource center for individuals with disabilities, based in White Plains, is providing office space where Ms. Diaz can meet with consumers and help guide them through the process of selecting the best program for themselves, their families or business.

is open for business.  Enrollment is currently underway for affordable health insurance that will go into effect on January 1, 2014. The website states “Navigators will provide in person application assistance to individuals, families and small businesses and their employees at initial enrollment and when renewing coverage.”

WILC is collaborating with Young Invincibles (YI), a national non-partisan organization to offer these services. YI has conducted over 40 trainings nationwide, providing more than 800 youth-serving organizations and health partners with the information they need to help enroll young adults in their communities.  As Navigators, YI will be working one on one with consumers of all ages to help guide them through the application process.
