Bronx River Parkway Closures Sunday, Monday Nights

The closures are on the Bronx River Parkway between NYC and Yonkers.

The following is from the Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation-Traffic Engineering Division:

Motorists are advised that alternating lanes of the northbound and southbound Bronx River Parkway between the New York City border and the Sprain Brook Parkway merge in Yonkers will be closed on Sunday night, December 2 and Monday night, December 3 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

The closure of either one or two lanes of the parkway in each direction during these overnight hours is necessary due to the installation of pavement markings.

Delays are expected and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
