Details of New Scarsdale SoWe Festival Emerge

New details are coming out about the new SoWe Food & Wine Festival. The event, which will be held on September 22, is being organized by Rich Baumer and his company, Baumer Ventures & Imagine Party & Events. Baumer has lived in Scarsdale for 15 years with his wife and three children. Here are the details from Baumer:

Indy band Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan has been added to the music line-up at the SoWe (Southern Westchester) Food & Wine Festival, in Scarsdale, Sunday, September 22. Also added to the schedule are new wine seminars, wine tastings, and The Pepe Infinti Lounge, catered by 42 The Restaurant, outfitted by West Elm, with champagne by Zachys.  New restaurants have been added to the event, including Alvin & Friends, Polpettina, Longfords Ice Cream, Enrico’s Pastry, and Crabtree Kittle House, bringing the total number of restaurants to 75.

Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan is well known for their rootsy, introspective, rocking, live shows. They will perform in Chase Park after The B Street Band, and music from DJ Zap. Zachys will host world-renown Brunello di Montalcino producer, Fanti, for a Brunello di Montalcino seminar, in their store, from 1 – 2 PM. Wilson & Sons Jewelers, on Chase Road, in Scarsdale, will host an exclusive, VIP Champagne tasting from 12 – 5 PM, with Zachys presenting highly-rated Non-vintage and Vintage champagnes. Vintology Wine & Spirits teams up with Lange's of Scarsdale to host a complimentary wine tasting at Lange's newly expanded location, from 12-5pm. Awards for the best food samples will be judged by Tanya Steele of Epicurious.com, John Mariani, one of America’s premier food writers and long time columnist for Esquire & Bloomberg News, Ralph Kantrowitz, publisher of Great Restaurants of Fairfield, Westchester &Hudson Valley, and Howard Sturman, Publisher of Hometown Media Group.

Parking is plentiful and free shuttle buses run all day long on scheduled routes to nearby parking lots. There is no entrance fee to the Grand Tasting Village, stretching out over Chase Road, Spencer Place, Harwood Court and Boniface Circle. Tickets must be purchased to sample food, wine, beer & certain wine tastings and seminars. All the streets at the SoWe Festival are fully tented, curb to curb, for a great time, rain or shine.
