The search for local heroes will take place on Saturday, March 12 from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Call (914) 946-6500 x 260, email Calverta@usa.redcross.org or visit the Red Cross website to fill out an online nomination form or learn more about the process.

2.  On Saturday, March 12,  the 12th Annual Affordable Homeownership Expo will teach potential homeowners how to research properties, improve credit and understand mortgages, grants and loans for down payments and closing costs. The Expo will be held at the Westchester County Center on 198 Central Ave. in White Plains from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Call (914) 332-4144 or visit the County website for more information. Pricing is free.

3. Sunday, March 13 is the last day to register for the Scarsdale Recreation Department’s field trip to Sahara Sam’s Waterpark. Don’t let your kid miss their chance to spend the afternoon splashing and swimming with all their friends – fill out the registration form on the Village website so they can join in on the fun. The trip is $85, and includes transportation, waterpark admission and lunch. Participants will leave from Village Hall at 8 a.m. and will return at 7:30 p.m.  Boys and girls in 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades are welcome to attend.
