Five Things You Need to Know Today: Guild Book Artists' Reception, 'Incorrigible Children' Author to Appear at SPL

Meetings, activities and presentations in Scarsdale on Wednesday. Dec. 7.

1. Maryrose Wood, author of the "Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place: The Mysterious Howling," will appear at Scarsdale Library at 7 p.m. tonight for the grades 4-6 book discussion. Register online and see a librarian for a copy of the book.

2. A public meeting will be held tonight to discuss recommended changes to the Scarsdale School Board Nominating Committee Non-Partisan Resolution. The meeting, which will be held at the Scarsdale Congregational Church (Boynton Room) at 8 p.m., is open to all members of the public. It is recommended that SBNC candidates attend this meeting to learn about how the SBNC works.

3. Before you hear the pounding of hammers and the droning of drills emanating from your neighbor’s half-constructed sunroom, take it into consideration that the Board of Appeals has already reviewed the blueprints, discussed the plans with the site’s owners and determined how the new room’s appearance will fit the surrounding neighborhood’s architectural aesthetic. Tonight, witness the BAR in action when they meet in Village Hall at 8 p.m. to discuss proposed private sports courts and swimming pools.
