Five Things You Need to Know Today: Thunderstorms, Flute Concerts and Blogging for Scarsdale Patch

1. It’s fitting that the movie “Thor” is coming out this weekend, because the rest of this week is going to consist of one big thunderstorm! Today, there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m., and another thunderstorm before noon before some post-lunch showers. Conditions will clear up before evening, though, giving you a chance for a safe evening commute.

2. Starting today, Scarsdale Patch is now offering blogging opportunities for locals passionate about sharing their voices and representing their communities—and you can be a part of it! It’s not too late to buy a ticket for the event, which will take place at the Westchester Country Club in Rye and feature silent auction and gourmet goodies from various restaurants around town.
