When: Friday, March 4, 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Why Go: Sure, you can’t get your teen to even tiptoe near the kitchen unless it’s to grab a study snack. But mention the word “sushi,” a trendy, healthful favorite for everyone from grown-up gourmands to seventeen-year-old high school seniors, and they’ll soon be rolling up their sleeves – and rolling up that California macki – like old pros.

Pricing: $30

2.

Where: 735 Anderson Hill Rd, Purchase (Neuberger Museum of Art, Purchase College)

When: Saturday, March 5, 1-4 p.m.

Why Go: Family photo sessions have never been this fun… maybe because this time, you’re not wearing that itchy handmade sweater given to you by great-aunt Mildred. Families will be given a guided tour of “The Deconstructive Impulse: Women Artists Reconfigure the Signs of Power, 1793-1991.” After learning how artists such as Cindy Sherman and Dara Birnbaum used costumes to tell stories, kids will be given costumes and props and create their own dramatic photo sessions. Is anyone sensing a photo op for this year’s Christmas cards…?

Pricing: Free!

3.

Where: , 1997 Palmer Ave, Larchmont

When: Friday, March 4, 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: Charles isn’t just any old bookstore patron – he’s a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who likes to trot and nuzzle his way around Larchmont’s favorite small bookstore on weekend afternoons.
