Leaders Of 25 Westchester Synagogues And Institutions Meet In Scarsdale To Discuss Security

Roundtable sponsored by Westchester Jewish Council.

Scarsdale Synagogue hosted the Westchester Jewish Council's Security Roundtable on Monday, when 32 leaders, representing 25 Westchester synagogues and institutions, spent the evening sharing security strategies.

Council Executive Director Elliot Forchheimer said they also learned about the "Non-Profit Security Grant Program" from David Pollock, the associate executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of NY.

Forchheimer and council president Ronald E. Burton said in their e-newsletter this moring that "this roundtable was notable in that leaders gave up their most precious resource - TIME - in order to build our community. On the nicest evening of this winter (yes, it is still winter!), these 32 individuals took the time to come from throughout greater Westchester and beyond (Riverdale, Mahopac, and Stamford were also represented) to help strengthen the Jewish community. The security of our community is a collective responsibility, and we are all blessed with synagogues and institutions filled with dedicated volunteers and professionals who take the time to care about us all. It is this sense of communal caring that we treasure and which makes us all stronger as a result."
