"Money" Makes Scarsdale the "Top-Earning Town"
The magazine's list of towns with top incomes is part of its annual "Best Places to Live" report.
Citing the town's high per capita income and close proximity to New York City, Money magazine has ranked Scarsdale No. 1 in its list of Top-earning Towns.
"In this Westchester County village, residents enjoy the biggest incomes on our list, thanks to well-off commuters who appreciate the quick half-hour train ride into Manhattan," says the magazine.
The top-earning towns list is part of the magazine's annual report on "Best Places to Live."
Scarsdale ranked No. 1 on this list because of its median household income of $291,542. Other data the magazine disgorged: the town/village's median home price is $1,205,000.
"Scarsdale boasts an appealing downtown peppered with Tudor-style buildings and pretty shopping areas, plus some of the best schools in the area -- the high school is among the nation's top 500."
