Score higher, think smarter, and boost your word-game skills at a workshop for fans of SCRABBLE ® and its online equivalent, “Words With Friends.” The event is taking place at the JCC of Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale on Wednesday, January 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Three-time National Scrabble Champion Joe Edley will teach strategies, show how to use two-letter words effectively, and how to play more 7- and 8-letter words. He will explain which individual letters and combinations to hang on to, while demonstrating how to focus-in quickly on the best word plays. Players of all levels and ages are welcome.
Joe Edley is a professional SCRABBLE player who has been on the tournament circuit for more than 30 years. He is as an expert consultant for the National Scrabble Association and the co-author of Everything SCRABBLE®, 3rd Edition, author of several other SCRABBLE and Bananagrams books and calendars, and the newly-published Anagrammar.
Class fee is $25. Participants should bring their own complete SCRABBLE set. Register at the JCC Front Desk by January 2. Direct any questions to Phyllis Kelly at (914) 472-3300, x423 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
