Here are fun activities and some sweet deals for the whole family this upcoming week.

EVENTS FOR FAMILIES, Oct. 13 – 19

October 14: Toddler Time at the Community Center in Issaquah

  • 8 am to Noon
  • At the Issaquah Community Center at 301 Rainer Blvd. South.
  • For kids age one to three with an adult caregiver.
  • Get out of the rain and run around and play with toys, slides and bikes at this indoor playground.

October 17: Pajama Story Time at the

  • 7 pm to 8 pm
  • For ages two to six.
  • Enjoy stories, puppets, music and movement in your pjs.
  • Cost: Free

October 18: Teen Writer’s Group at the

  • 3:30 pm to 5 pm
  • For teens.
  • Talk about writing and share pieces to be critiqued or just observe while enjoying snacks.
  • Cost: Free

October 18: Life After High School: Write to Win at the

  • 7 pm to 8:30 pm
  • For teens.
  • Learn how to write successful college entrance essays and college applications. Find out from a real college administrator who will give you an insider’s view into the process. Learn practical strategies on how to put together a winning application and essay.
  • Cost: Free but registration online by October 13 is required.

October 15: Fall Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Remlinger Farms in Carnation

  • 10 am to 6 pm
  • Celebrate fall with a trip to Remlinger Farms. The park’s rides will be open, along with the restaurant, market, u-pick pumpkin field and corn maze. 
  • Cost: $15.25 for adults and kids over 12 months. $13 for seniors and 12 months and younger – free!

Halloween Costume Swap at in Kirkland

  • Deal: Go green this Halloween and save some money. Drop off a clean, gently used Halloween costume at Unique Plus, located in downtown Kirkland across from the , by October 13 and get a ticket. Come back for the store's costume swap event on 10-14 from 2 pm to 4 pm and your child will use the ticket to pick out his or her next costume for free.

This pumpkin catapult video is from a trip to Jubilee Farms, out in Carnation. The kids (and adults!) loved it..
