POLL: Was Your Property Harmed During Last Weekend's Nor'easter?

Last weekend's police reports were fraught with downed wires, trees crashing into cars and automobile accidents. Did the Halloween snowstorm inflict costly property damage on your household, vehicle or other possessions?

It's said that crime frequency decreases during cold, snowy weather — but that doesn't mean the Scarsdale Police were receiving fewer calls last weekend during the surprise Nor'easter that blanketed the Eastern Seaboard with pre-winter powder.

According to a sample taken from last weekend's police reports, there were:

  • 8 reports of automobile accidents
  • 6 reports of trees falling onto vehicles
  • 2 possible house fires/smoke complaints
  • 66 reports of fallen trees blocking roadways
  • 1 report of a driver colliding with a fallen tree
  • 3 reports of disabled vehicles
  • 4 reports of wires and transformers on fire

Were you on the receiving end of any household damage from downed tree boughs, sparking wires, burst pipes or fire-related accidents? And what about your car — did it remain unscathed while navigating Scarsdale's icy, debris-filled roads? Or are you heading to Sal's Auto Service this Saturday?
