Scarsdale Gearing Up For Halloween 2012

The Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the annual window painting contest and costume parade.

Scarsdale is getting ready for some spook-tacular fun next month.

The Scarsdale Parks and Recreation Department is holding its annual Halloween Window Painting Contest and Parent/Child Halloween Window Painting Program on October 21. From 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. students and residents in grades one through ten are able to enter the contest. 

After the masterpieces have been painted, the kids can take part in the annual Costume Parade.

The witches, princesses, super heroes and villains will be marching through village streets by Chase Park. Parents take note. The lineup for the parade begins at 2:45 p.m. in front of Chase Park with the official event starting at 3:00 p.m.

The Scarsdale Parks and Recreation Department will have Halloween entertainment and refreshments for the kiddos at the parade. All elementary school-aged students (and younger) are welcome to take part.

The deadline to participate in the Halloween Window Painting program is Wednesday, October 10. The Recreation Department is asking folks to register online at http://reconline.scarsdale.com
