Scarsdale Grab & Go Kids Planner: Movies, Arts and Crafts

Activities for the younger set for the upcoming weekend.

1. Free Craft Fun
Where/When: Lakeshore Learning Store, 969 Central Park Ave., Ste. A, Scarsdale, Saturday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m.
Why Go: Lakeshore Learning Store, located at the Midway shopping center on Central Ave. in Scarsdale, offers Free Crafts for Kids sessions every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. These craft sessions provide an excellent way for kids to unleash their creativity. Every session has its own special theme, so visit Lakeshore's Web site to learn more.
Pricing: Free.

2. Winter Wildlife Wonders
Where/When: Greenburgh Nature Center, 99 Dromore Rd, Scarsdale, Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.
Why Go: Discover how various animals survive the winter months with a hands-on exploration led by a Greenburgh Nature Center naturalist. Participants will visit live animals and learn about how each creature adapts and prevails during the season.
Pricing: $4, members; $8, non-members.

3. Art Makers at the Pelham Art Center

Where/When: Pelham Art Center, 155 Fifth Ave, Pelham, Friday, Feb. 24 at 9:30 a.m.
Why Go: Children ages 4 to 10 are invited to explore three different art activities with professional artists. Activties inlcude painting, drawing, mask making, tie dye, felting, collage, paper mache, clay, puppets, bookmaking, theatre and more.
Pricing: $77/$69 for Art Center members.

4. Fridays with Franklin at Voracious Reader
Where/When: The Voracious Reader, 1997 Palmer Ave, Larchmont, Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m.
Why Go: While not a reading therapy dog, almost 10-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Franklin enjoys being read to, not to mention receiving belly rubs from all the children. He comes to the Voracious Reader every Friday.
Pricing: Free.

5. Family Fun Flicks: Azur and Asmar: The Princes' Quest
Where/When: The Picture House, 175 Wolfs Ln, Pelham, Friday, Feb. 24 at 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 25 and Sunday, Feb. 25 at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Why Go: The Picture House in Pelham is showing the English version of this animated film, which is recommended for ages 6 and up. The story centers around Azur & Asmar, two boys raised as brothers. Blonde, blue-eyed, white-skinned Azur and black-haired, brown-eyed, dark-skinned Asmar are lovingly cared for by Asmar's gentle mother, who tells them magical stories of her faraway homeland and of the beautiful, imprisoned Djinn Fairy waiting to be set free.
Pricing: $12 at the door, $9 in advance; Student/Senior/Child pay $10 a the door, $8; $6, members.
