Scarsdale, NY — Postal officials are announcing a special Passport Fair is being held on election day, Tuesday Nov. 5 at the Scarsdale Post Office at 29 Chase Road. The Passport Fair is designed to make it easier to apply for a passport with additional personnel dedicated to accepting applications and taking passport photos from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
To help the passport application process run smoothly and efficiently, postal officials recommends the following:
· Bring proper proof of American citizenship. This must be either: a certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state; a previous U.S. passport; a certificate of citizenship; or a naturalization certificate. (Please note: a hospital-issued birth certificate alone is not acceptable.)
· Bring proof of identity. This must be either: a previous U.S. passport; a naturalization certificate; a certificate of citizenship; a current valid driver’s license, government ID or military photo ID. Bring original plus a photo copy of the ID, front and back on same side of page.
· The passport application requires an identical color photograph of you, which is available at the Scarsdale Post Office Passport Fair for $15.
Currently, most passports cost $135 for adults and $105 for children less than 16 years of age. Both parents must be present when processing passports for minors.
