With the help of a crew of historic preservationists at Atlanta's Oakland Cemetery, The Weather Channel compiled a list of some of the most interesting, scenic and historic cemeteries across the country. No surprise to us, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery was chosen as number one on their list.
Second only to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, where Washington Irving -- father of "America's oldest ghost story" is buried -- ranked another Sleepy Hollow Cemetery...in Concord, MA.
The Concord cemetery, is also quite literary in renown, with the likes of Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Louisa May Alcott resting there eternally.
