Marcia Tyler, a 25-year veteran teacher at Edgewood, said the highlight of her career was the ability to move across grade levels, which also significantly contributed to her evolution as a teacher. Throughout Marcia Tyler’s career, she taught Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th and 5th grades.

Penny Hamlet, who taught 2nd and 4th grades at Heathcote before moving to Quaker Ridge and became a “Teacher in Charge,” said that witnessing past students' success meant that she had done her job right. “Hearing from students long after I taught them is the most fulfilling part of my career," Hamlet said.
