Motorists are advised that the New York State Department of Transportation will be continuing various lane closures on the southbound Sprain Brook Parkway between I-287 and the Bronx River Parkway for paving operations.
Weather permitting,the closures are expected to take place until further notice between the hours of 7PM and 5AM. Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers.
Travelers are also reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension ofthe driver’s license.
