Zachy's Wine, Scarsdale PBA Team Up For Charity

The Scarsdale wine and liquor store and the Scarsdale Police Benevolent Association teamed up to raise funds for two charities.

Zachys Wine and Liquor in Scarsdale and the Scarsdale Police Benevolent Association teamed up this fall to raise funds for two charities. Earlier this month, Zachys President Jeff Zacharia and CEO Don Zacharia, along with Ronnie Arefieg of the Scarsdale PBA presented checks to the two charities, Navigating the Spectrum and The Hemophilia Association of NY.

Zachys and the PBA raised the funds at a Quaker Ridge golf tournament in October.

"This golf outing has been a major success throughout the years," Zachys' Alex DePinto said.

The golf tournament sold out, with 144 participants taking part this year.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
