O Sole Trio Concert

The Greenville Community Church announces its second concert in its 2011-2012 Concert Series, innovative performances of great music held in the sanctuary of Greenville Community Church, located at 270 Ardsley Road, Scarsdale, New York. Giuseppe Spoletini, Music Director, is also Artistic Director of the Recital Series.

On Sunday, Nov. 20, at 4 p.m., the series will present “O Sole Trio”, a new and vibrant musical ensemble featuring the rich and versatile voices of soprano, Erin Shields and baritone, Giuseppe Spoletini, along with the amazingly virtuosic David Shenton on piano and violin.

Their shows feature a blend of some of the most popular Italian opera, Neapolitan and classic jazz standards, with a concentration on the Italian language. From Louis Prima to Puccini, there's something to please the Italian in everyone.

Here’s what the critics have been saying:

“Mamma Mia! it was so good...fast-paced, funny and touching, with two stellar voices and commanding accompaniment...an evening you’d be crazy to miss."

~Harold Sanditen, Cabaret Scenes

“…the atmosphere is informal: three friends getting together to make both music and merry. It's rather like a party—a quite jolly one...Shenton plays ("Torno a Surriento") on violin and piano—not in turn, but at the same time...Probably more improbable is the duo's simultaneous singing of "Largo al factotum" and "That's Amore”…These pairings should not work, but do they ever!—thanks to another pairing: the singing skills of Shields and Spoletini and Shenton's arrangements, which are at once canny and uncanny.”
