Scarsdale Art Association Hosts Reception For Spring Show and Sale

Demonstration looks at using photography in art.

Members of the are sponsoring a reception Sunday in the Scott Room of the Scarsdale Library for its Spring art show and sale. 

The event, which is free and open to the public, goes from 2 to 5 p.m. and includes a 3 p.m. demonstration of how to use photography in art.

There will be food and drink at the reception. 

The association's art show and sale runs until March 30 at the library.

Founded in 1938, The Scarsdale Art Association encourages expression through art. Membership has grown to more than 200 artists and supporters of the arts from throughout Westchester.

The association's activities include exhibits throughout the year, frequent programs at the Girl Scout House Leahey Gallery as well as the outdoor show and sale.

The public is invited to most SAA activities at no charge.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
