Theater Company Putting Fun Twist on Shakespeare

Tibi Confidas Theatre Troupe to perform in inaugural show in Scarsdale.

Debra Lee Failla has only 90 minutes to present 37 works of William Shakespeare to her audience.

The director of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) has a three-man cast performing the inaugural play this month in Scarsdale.

"We take the stuffiness out of Shakespeare," the Westchester resident and longtime theater director said.

On May 18, 19, 20, 25 and 26, the Tibi Confidas Theatre Troupe's Rob Nichols, Jim Ringel and Josh Marchetti are performing The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) at

Failla, who has been directing for the past two decades, said all 37 works will be incorporated into the 90-minute production.

The director said she founded the Tibi Confidas Theatre Troupe with ten members, and was inspired by a friend who told her to believe in herself and pursue her dream.

The troupe's name in Latin means "to believe in oneself," she noted.

Failla, whose husband is director of music ministry at the church, said the White Plains couple spends much of their time working in Scarsdale.

"We spend so much time in Scarsdale…it’s our second home," she said.

The public is welcome to attend The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) at The Friday and Saturday shows are at 8:00 p.m. and the Sunday show is at 3:00 p.m. General Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. The play is being held in Breen Hall, 5 Strathmore Road, Scarsdale.
