Gearing Up For A Sweet Super Bowl In Scarsdale

In the Village of Scarsdale, several businesses are prepping for Super Bowl Sunday.

It may not be a local team facing off in the Super Bowl this year, but Scarsdale football fans are prepping for those Sunday parties.

The owner of La Renaissance Bakery in the village is gearing up for what is expected to be a busy weekend of baking, cooking and filling catering orders.

Besides the football-shaped, iced-cookies, Owner David Shore said his shop will be filling catering requests for the traditional mini-pizzas, franks in a blanket, sandwiches and football-shaped cakes this weekend.

"It's very last minute so everything is fresh," Shore said of the cooking and baking for the fans that place catering orders for their Super Bowl gatherings.

Down the street at Imagine Candy, fans have already begun buying their sweet treats for Sunday.

The candy shop is already serving up game-day platters filled with chocolate covered pretzels and mini-chocolate footballs. Also popular with the little fans, the football-decorated, rice crispies lollipops and the large, all-chocolate footballs, according to Imagine's Donna Halperin.

And over at Scarsdale Child's Play, the toy shop is helping the young fans get into the spirit. Stuffed, football-player-themed-teddy bear anyone?
