Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester Welcomes New CFO

Michael Herz is the JCC's new Chief Financial Officer.

The has a new Chief Financial Officer.

The Scarsdale-based JCC recently hired Armonk resident Michael Herz as the new CFO.

Herz will "be responsible for all accounting and finance, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, policies and procedures, human resources and information technology," according to a statement from the JCC.

Herz, a CPA who received his MBA from Pace University, has 30 years of experience.  He previously worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte Touche. 

His most recent job was as the Managing Director of Finance, Administration, HR and IT for the NY Society of Security Analysts, according to the JCC.

"His goals at the JCC are to provide financial leadership, ensure fiscal responsibility and transparent accountability, to assure the future success of the JCC," the announcement stated.

When he is not working, the married father of three spends his time golfing and bowling.

According to the JCC, the new CFO was "selected as one of five adult bowlers who represented Team USA in the European Maccabi Games last summer in Vienna, Austria, where he won two gold medals."

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
