Scarsdale Chef and Vintology Wine & Spirits Go Green

Vintology Wine & Spirits teams up again with Chef & Culinary Instructor Jennifer Rossano to present “Organic: From Kitchen to Vineyard”, an evening of delicious food, great wine and interesting conversation about the evolving landscape of sustainable and organic food and winemaking.  This third installment of “Organic” will be held on Friday, October 4th, 7:30pm, at Vintology’s new larger location at 2 Palmer Avenue in Scarsdale.

Guests will sample Rossano’s creative preparations, inspired by early autumn’s harvest, while the Vintology team presents a flight of organic wines to pair.
“Engaging 'gastro buffs’ in the conversation about their food choices is fun and rewarding in Vintology’s intimate shop setting,” says Chef Jennifer Rossano.

“I love showcasing seasonal and locally sourced ingredients in the dishes that I prepare.  Customers leave with a wealth of knowledge about sustainable choices, and through the course of the evening, they enjoy good company, delicious food and delectable wines.  It’s a natural collaboration of agriculture and eating."

Rossano will prepare an array of dishes using the best local and organic ingredients in season. The evening’s menu will feature tastes of Beet & Pear Salad, Truffle Scented Cauliflower Soup, Ratatouille, Pork Roast with Maple Glazed Cabbage & Apple Compote, and Braised Short Ribs in Barolo, plus Dessert.

Rossano is a culinary instructor and food educator. She attended the International Culinary Arts Center (formerly the French Culinary Institute) where she completed their immersion program in Culinary Techniques.  Jennifer then joined the kitchen staff at The Blum Center for Health, a functional medicine and lifestyle education center.  There, she mastered the fundamentals of a plant-based, whole-foods diet, developing an appreciation for the role that food plays in achieving nutritional wellness.

Jennifer now teaches culinary techniques and food education to students of all ages. Her approach combines preparing delicious food with choosing ingredients and cooking methods that support good health. She works with individuals as well as groups in a variety of settings.

“Organic: From Kitchen to Vineyard” will take advantage of Vintology’s larger space. After five years of growing business at 10 Palmer Avenue, the Vintology team will re-open just a few doors down at the corner location at 2 Palmer Avenue on October 1st.  “Organic” will be the first special event at the new Vintology.

“Organic” tickets, which include an array of culinary delights, a flight of premium organic wine, and education with the experts, are $59 per person.  Reservations are currently being accepted to info@vintology.com or (914) 723-2040.
