Scarsdale Rotary Holding Wine Tasting For A Cause Thursday

The rotary club is holding a fundraiser at Fox Meadows this week.

Wine lovers will be tasting for a good cause in Scarsdale Thursday night.

About 150 folks are expected to attend the is being held at Fox Meadows from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on March 29.

The event, featuring wines from and appetizers, is raising funds for the Haitian Water Project, Scarsdale High School scholarships, the Children's Village and Scarsdale-Edgemont Family Counseling Services, according to Rick Reuter, co-chair of the event.

Reuter said the event began three years ago as a way the Rotary Club could give back to Haiti following the devastating earthquake.

"This was major event for us," Reuter, who has been in the Rotary for the past 12 years, said. "The first year, we raised somewhat shy of $15,000."

After solely donating proceeds to the Haitian Water Project, this year the Rotary Club is splitting proceeds, donating half to the water fund and half to the other charities, he noted.
