Looking for authentic home-style barbeque food just got easier for residents of Westchester County. When D & A Smokehouse, opens its doors this fall the menu and atmosphere promises to bring the whole barbeque experience to residents right in Scarsdale, NY. You won’t have to travel far for mouth watering barbeque wings, brisket, pulled pork, ribs, mac & cheese and more. The restaurant, located at 749 Central Park Avenue, will feature a cozy and casual interior with comfortable seating for up to 25 guests and will be serving up homemade barbeque flavor for lunch and dinner.
Owner and head Chef Douglas Lo Cicero has been an avid backyard barbeque expert for many years, earning him the distinction amongst friends as the “Pitmaster.” The former Chef of The Tapp in Tarrytown, started out years ago hosting barbeques for friends during the summer months and was happy to just man the grill and serve up what he considered the real deal in barbeque delights. Through the years the ambitious chef learned to cook, low and slow and has crafted the art of making everything from homemade beef brisket and sausages to his very own special barbeque sauce and spice rubs. Lo Cicero traveled around the country finding, testing and refining the best barbeque techniques and flavors, while honing the art of restaurant service and barbeque cooking.
Lo Cicero stands by his motto of quality over quantity and freshly made food, cooked to order, and today that is the secret to his success. “It has been my lifelong dream to open a genuine barbeque restaurant where I can offer quality food with my special secret spices and homemade sauces I personally developed through the years,” said Lo Cicero. “I am excited to add to the great restaurant mix offered in Westchester County and give local residents a taste of different kinds of barbeque cooking styles.”
D & A Smokehouse, named after chef and owner Douglas and his business partner and dad Anthony, will also feature a unique carving station where patrons can watch the “Pitmaster” carve his specialties daily right in front of them. Barbeque food pairs perfectly with cold craft beer on tap or canned and bottled. Guests can compliment their meals with a good selection of local micobrewed craft beers that will be available as well as a variety of red and white wines. Whether you dine-in or take-out at D & A Smokehouse your barbeque delights will be cooked low and slow and freshly made to order.
