Show Goes On as Ailing Actress is Replaced in "Kiss Me Kate" at the Westchester Broadway Theatre
Christianne Tisdale, the actress playing Kate in The Westchester Broadway Theatre revival of Cole Porter's "Kiss Me Kate," has been replaced by Jeannie Shubitz, the theater announced on Friday, October 4. Tisdale had to drop out for undisclosed medical reasons.
The musical will continue its run through November 3, 2013.
Shubitz, born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, has appeared in many Broadway revivals but Kiss Me Kate is not one of them. Her roles have included:
- Fiona (Brigadoon)
- Julie Jordan (Carousel)
- Sarah Brown (Guys and Dolls)
- Josephine (H.M.S. Pinafore)
- Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady)
- Christine (Phantom)
- Magnolia (Show Boat)
- Nellie Forbush (South Pacific)
- Margaret Johnson (The Light in the Piazza)
- Marian (The Music Man)
Shubitz has a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Arizona in Tuscon and a Masters Degree granted by the School of Music at Arizona State University in Tempe.
