Updated: Winds, Rain Bring Power Outages In Scarsdale

The wet, winter weather caused downed trees, power lines and outages in Edgemont and Scarsdale Wednesday.

Updated at 3:30 p.m. – Con Edison is reporting that there are 11 customers remaining without power Wednesday. The estimated restoration time is now 9:00 p.m.

A blustery, rainy Wednesday storm has left several Con Edison customers in Scarsdale and Edgemont without power today.

Con Ed is reporting 143 customers remain without power Wednesday afternoon, as of 12:30 p.m. The current restoration time for the outages is 6:00 p.m. tonight.

Scarsdale and Edgemont should see the rain taper off by 2:00 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service. The high temperature for Wednesday should reach 48 degrees and the low will hit 36 degrees, although the wind makes it feel a bit chillier out.

A coastal flood advisory for Southern Westchester remains in effect until 2:00 p.m. today, according to the NWS.

On Thursday, expect another wet day, with a 50% chance of showers and a high temp of 47 degrees, according to the NWS.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
