- Editor's Note: The following is a press release from the New York State Department of Transportation
Motorists are advised that the New York State Department of Transportation will be conducting lane and ramp closures in both directions on the Sprain Brook Parkway between State Route 100B (Dobbs Ferry Road) and State Route 100C (Grasslands Road) beginning tonight, October 31.
Weather permitting, closures will take place week nights October 31-November 30, between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. for paving activities.
When the Sprain Brook Parkway’s northbound ramp to I-287 is closed, motorists should follow the posted detour to Route 100B east, then north on Route 100A to ramp for I-287 eastbound on the right.
When the I-287 eastbound Exit 3 ramp to the southbound Sprain Brook Parkway is closed, motorists should follow the posted detour east to Exit 4 (Route 100A), take Route 100A south to Route 100B west to ramp for southbound Sprain Brook Parkway on the left.
Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers. Travelers are also reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
