Thousands Still Without Power In Scarsdale, Edgemont Wednesday

Halloween will be a nasty trick for many folks who are dealing with power outages since Hurricane Sandy hit.

There is not much good news for the more than 6,000 Con Ed customers in Scarsdale, Edgemont and Greenville still without power Wednesday.

For most hit by downed wires and trees during Hurricane Sandy, Con Edison has no time estimate for when wires will be repaired and when the power will be restored. For the lucky few, power is said to be restored later today.

For the 1,142 customers without power off of Route 22, ConEd is estimating that power will be on by about 5:00 p.m. tonight.

For the 588 customers off of Route 22 and Scarsdale Ave., power is said to be restored at 3:00 p.m. today. Those in Quaker Ridge can expect some electricity come 4:00 p.m. today.

Con Edison customers without power should be sure to report the outage to the utility company. Call Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED or report the outage online at http://www.coned.com/sm/

According to the Village of Scarsdale, calling to report the outage will register the complaint in the Con Ed database. Even if a neighbor already called, folks must report each individual outage to register it in the system.
