At a press conference in White Plains this morning, New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson was endorsed in his campaign for Westchester County Executive by NARAL Pro-Choice New York and WCLA - Choice Matters PAC.

Mayor Bramson was introduced at the press conference by Republican Kim Izzarelli, a board member at the Planned Parenthood - Hudson Peconic Action Fund which had previously endorsed Bramson. They were also joined by County Legislators Catherine Borgia, Judy Myers, Mary Jane Shimsky, and Alfreda Williams.

"We are proud to endorse Mayor Noam Bramson for County Executive today,” said Andrea Miller, President of NARAL Pro-Choice New York. “As Mayor of New Rochelle, Noam has been on the right side of the pro-choice, pro-woman issues that matter to his constituents. As County Executive, I know that he will apply that same commitment and enthusiasm to working on behalf of all Westchester residents. When it comes to standing up for women and families, Noam Bramson is the real deal. NARAL Pro-Choice New York couldn't be more enthusiastic about his candidacy.”

"As a lifelong resident of Westchester County, I never thought I'd see what's happened over the last four years under County Executive Rob Astorino," said Catherine Lederer-Plaskett, President of WCLA - Choice Matters. "He has cut after-school funding and funding for education programs to prevent teen pregnancy; he has cut every kind of program to support working women as they try to support their families and has even cut funding for neighborhood health centers. It is long overdue for us to say goodbye to Rob Astorino and welcome in a breath of fresh air. WCLA PAC happily endorses Noam Bramson for County Executive."

"We all take women's reproductive health care seriously here in Westchester,"said Kim Izzarelli, who was also the Republican nominee for NY State Assembly in the 95th District last year. "That support crosses party lines, which is why I am here today to show my support."

"Make no mistake, reproductive rights are on the ballot this November in Westchester,"said Mayor Bramson. "That's because our positions on choice matter. They matter when it comes to County policy. They matter when it comes to advocacy. And they matter when it comes to the fundamental question of whether we share the values of the people we represent. On this issue and so many others, Rob Astorino is just too extreme for Westchester."

Following this morning's endorsements, Bramson has now been endorsed by every major pro-choice group in Westchester County and New York State.
