Westchester Band

The Westchester Band under the direction of maestro Alan Hollander continue their summer concert series this week featuring trumpeter Frank Huber performing the Arutunian trumpet concerto, one of the staples of literature for trumpet. The piece mixes demanding technique with lyrical lines and endurance. Mr. Huber is finishing his education in music performance at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. This concerto, as well, affords other sections of the band numerous "soli" opportunities. A wonderful musical experience for the audience. You'll hear a wide variety of your favorites and the popular "mystery tune" with another chance to win a prize from a local merchant. These concerts are sponsored by the Scarsdale Dept. of Parks and Recreation and Friends of Westchester Band. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the concert with your friends and neighbors in a wonderful setting. Rain location: Scarsdale H.S. auditorium.
