Interfaith Council Luncheon

"Our Sacred Trust;               Environmental Concern and the Faith Response"

The controversial issue of hydro-fracking and the intersection between environmental matters and religious teachings will be the topic of the Scarsdale-Hartsdale Women's Interfaith Council's annual Fall Luncheon on Tuesday, October 18.  Kate Hudson of Riverkeeper and Rick Ufford-Chase of Stony Point Conference Center will speak about this gas-extraction method, the effect it could have on the environment and whether or how communities of faith are called upon to respond.

Kate Hudson is the NYC Watershed Program Director at Riverkeeper and served in key roles at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation for more than 24 years.  She has worked on a wide range of enforcement and permitting matters in all program areas, including air quality, water quality, solid and hazardous waste and mining.
