Junior League of Central Westchester Informational Coffees for Prospective Members

The Junior League of Central
Westchester (JLCW) invites women from Eastchester, Greenburgh, Scarsdale and
White Plains to its semi-annual “Recruiting Coffees” at historic Wayside
Cottage on January 25, 2012 at either 9:30 a.m. or 8:00 p.m.  JLCW is a nonprofit women’s
organization committed to promoting volunteerism; developing the potential of
women; and improving the community through the effective action and leadership
of trained volunteers.  The JLCW invites women of all races, religions and national
origins who are committed to volunteerism to become a member.

If this is happening in a community like Scarsdale, then as a taxpayer I am irritated. Where are allRead More the taxes going if teachers are paying for their own classroom supplies? There has to be some degree of accountability regarding our tax dollars. We are the highest-taxed county in the nation and we can't afford notebooks and post-it notes? As a community member, I am not going to "lend a hand." I already do that with my tax dollars.
