The New Rochelle Branch of the NAACP will hold its annual Jubilee Day Celebration on Jan. 9, 2011 at Bethesda Baptist Church 71 Lincoln Avenue, New Rochelle, NY . The celebration will start at 5 p.m.

At this event the New Rochelle Branch will swear in all elected officials for 2011 thru 2012.

On January 1, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation freeing slaves from bondage. The Jubilee Celebration is our way to pay tribute to that historical day. It is important to remember the history that afforded our present.

The community and public is invited to join us in this celebration.

For more information please contact the New Rochelle NAACP.
