Local Pastor Runs for Student Ambassadors

Pastor Robert Hartwell's run in the Long Island Half Marathon is helping some Bronxville college students make an important trip to India. Pastor Harwell's run made a big difference in not only working to raise awareness of the trip, but it also helped raise cash for the Bronxville college students' journey to India. The Concordia College students will be helping an Indian girls school with building repairs and painting this summer on their missionary trip. They will also have the opportunity to build relationships with others as they explore the country. So far $5,000 has been donated to help the students on their mission to India.

“It was a pleasure to take each step of the run, knowing that I was helping a wonderful group of students make the even longer journey to India.” said Pastor Harwell.

Harwell, who is the senior minister of Village Lutheran Church here in Bronxville, says he's excited for all of the students who are preparing for their missionary trip.

“Students will not only experience India and grow to understand the beauty and the challenges of this nation, but will also be serving as missionaries sharing the love of God through acts of service in remote locations including Kodaikanal, a city in the hills of Tamil Nadu State, southwest of the major metropolis of Chenai," said Harwell.

Donations are still being accepted to help make the student's missionary trip possible.
