Head down to 8 Kent Road this afternoon to check out the green home of the future. The house will be open to the public so you can check out home's whole-house indoor air and water purification and filtration systems from noon until 2 p.m. It also has a geothermal and solar HVAC system. Scarsdale's own Healthy Home Builders is hosting the open house.
“The architecture, construction and finish materials, as well as the systems of 8 Kent Road, were designed and selected with an emphasis on wellness for its occupants,"said Healthy Home Builders Construction Manager Peter Donovan.
The 8 Kent Road home contains building materials that are both non-toxic or substantially less toxic than typical construction products.
“By dramatically scaling back or eliminating construction products that could release pollutants, and by installing whole house air and water filtration systems, Healthy Home Builders is building this beautiful home with health in mind,” said Donovan.
