Patch User Spotlight: Holiday Heroes; Thanking Veterans; Off Season Training

Our Patch users are blogging, posting and sharing photographs of their hometowns every day on Patch. With so much amazing content to choose from, Patch is shining the spotlight on a few blogs, events and announcements each week from Westchester and Fairfield.

These Girl Scouts made sure the local veterans were thanked in person on Monday. Scarsdale Patch User Elwyn Walshe posted about how the local scouts delivered baked goods and thanks to this Navy Veteran. Read the announcement here.

Join the local drive to support the troops and provide holiday greetings to the men and women serving our country. Take a look at the details here on Stamford Patch in this announcement: "Holiday Mail for Heroes with Spirit Zone Too."

Tis the season. Larchmont-Mamaroneck Patch Blogger Christopher Pagli posted about his trip to view the lighting of the tree in NYC in this post: "Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting 2013."

Don't forget to support Forever Families Through Adoption's fundraiser. Read about how you can dine at Planet Pizza in Rye and donate to your local adoption agency.

For all those athletes gearing up for a triathlon, be sure to read Julie Gabay's Blog today.  The USAT Triathlon Coach gives some advice on why "Training In The Off Season Is Important."
