Walk Live Westchester - October Updates

Walk Live Westchester news includes open registration for new "Walk Live Work Out" sessions in Scarsdale, upcoming participation at the Diabetes Expo in NYC, and updates on benefits for the AHA & ADA.

I'm thrilled to tell you that the Walk Live Westchester team recently raised over $1,100 for the American Diabetes Association! A six-person team registered for the Westchester County "Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes" which was held at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry on Sept 30. The walk was a great success. There were over 600 participants. We couldn't have asked for a nicer day! Sincerest thanks to the team and everyone who chose to donate to us and this cause! Remember, we can stop diabetes, one step at a time.

Up next, is the American Heart Association's Heart Walk. It's this coming Saturday morning, October 20, at the Kensico Dam in Valhalla. Registration and pre-event activities begin at 9 am. The walk kicks off at 10 am. It's not too late to join the walk team or make a donation. For more information about this event, call the Heart Associatin at 914-640-3274, or email us at Info@WalkLiveWestchester.com

Registration is underway for the next sessions of the Scarsdale Adult School "Walk Live Work Out". The next Friday session begins on October 26, and the next Monday session begins on November 5. Call the Adult School at 914-723-2325 to register, or visit www.WalkLiveWestchester.com/schedule.html for more information.

Although there are no demo walks in October, I plan to be walking strong at the Diabetes Expo at Jacob Javits Center in NYC on Saturday, November 3 from 10 am - 4pm. Admission to the Expo is FREE. There will be over 60 exhibtors sharing a wealth of information. You can find me by stopping by the American Diabetes Association's exhibit. The Expo is open to everyone. To avoid a long line when you arrive, register in advance at: http://diabetes.org/exponewyork

That's all for now. Walk on my friends!
