With Spain’s crushing victory over Italy on Sunday, there is indisputable evidence that Spain has earned its place in soccer history. After winning the Euro in 2008, the World Cup in South Africa in 2010 and now the Euro Championship in 2012, they are the only team to win three major tournaments in succession. This performance was a masterpiece in tactical and technical excellence with the likes of Xavi and Iniesta (Player of the Tournament) controlling the tempo of the game. And to think that critics were calling Spain boring!
The rest of team is comprised of world class players and it was visible throughout the game. Super Soccer Stars players, coaches and families were recently fortunate enough to learn what it takes to be a world class player from one of the best and most respected coaches in soccer – Manchester United First Team Coach, Rene Meulensteen. Coach Meulensteen visited us last week and shared his knowledge on how young players transition into world class players, like those on the talented Spanish team.

This quote is very simple and Rene continued on to explain what it takes to be the best at what you do.
Players must achieve the following:
- PEAK FITNESS: including PACE, STRENGTH, STAMINA
- AWARENESS UNDERSTANDING: DECISION-MAKING
- PERSONALITY: WINNING MENTALITY and ATTITUDE
- BASIC SKILL: MOVES, TURNS and TRICKS
Players with the above traits have the potential to be the best, be a world class player and maybe even one day play in the European Championship!
