Final Farewell to Scarsdale's Ray Saxe

Friends and family are saying goodbye to Scarsdale native Raymond Saxe III. Saxe passed away at Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle at the age of 50.

Saxe grew up in Scarsdale and graduated from high school in 1980. He married Scarsdale's Naomi Reinitz and they had three daughters, Amanda, Abigail and Rachel.

Saxe got his BS in electrical engineering from the University of Bridgeport back in 1985. He then went on to get his MBA in finance from NYU in 1990. He worked a Deutsche Bank and HSBC, where he was a senior vice president.
Saxe lived with his family in Rye Brook. He loved tennis, skiing and the Grateful Dead. He was a drummer and was thrilled when one of his daughters decided to take up drumming.

"Although I lost touch with Ray after High School, I remember many great times on and off the drum line together," Bruce Demaree from Pleasantville wrote in Saxe's memorial guest book. "Ray had a wonderful sense of humor, a healthy questioning of authority, and a great capacity for adventure that will continue to inspire. I offer my condolences to all his family and friends at this time, and peace to you Ray. 'The drum beats out of time...'"

The Scarsdale native loved taking the family up to Lake George every year. He had asked that his ashes be scattered there.
