On September 17, 2013
the Democratic Party held a Judicial Nominating Convention.   The Democratic Party in the Ninth
Judicial District chose five candidates to run for Supreme Court Justice.
 The five nominees are Judge Janet Malone, Judge John Colonel, Judge Maria
Vazquez-Doles, Victor Grossman and Alexander Eisemann.



 



Honorable Janet C. Malone – Janet was found
Well Qualified by the Westchester Women’s Bar Association.  She is a Family Court Judge and acting
Supreme Court Judge.  She has also been
rated highly qualified by the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Committee.  Judge Malone handles cases involving
vulnerable children and families with compassion and respect.  Prior to become a judge, she was a
Westchester Family Court Support Magistrate and assured that our children
received the financial support, health insurance and child care that they
needed. As an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan she was entrusted with securing
justice for victims of domestic violence, sex crimes and homicides.



 



John P. Colangelo – John was found Well Qualified by the
Westchester Women’s Bar Association. John is a Westchester County Court Judge
and acting Supreme Court Justice.  He
also served as an acting Family Court Judge and was a Judge in the New Rochelle
City Court.  Prior to that John was in
private practice of law including extensive litigation experience. John is an
Adjunct Professor, Department of Criminal Justice at Iona College.  John is well versed in the law and has earned
a reputation listening to both sides in a case, being fair and a hard worker.



 



Maria S. Vazquez-Doles – Maria was found Qualified by the
Westchester Women’s Bar Association. 
Maria serves as the Town Justice for Monroe and presides over approximately 400
cases per month.  She is also an attorney
for practices in family, matrimonial and commercial law.  She is also a former court attorney in
Manhattan Supreme Court where she researched and drafted decisions for Supreme
Court Justices. She was an adjunct professor at Monroe
College in New Rochelle. 
Maria also worked for Owens Corning and Fiberboard where she managed and
supervised the N.Y. legal team of attorneys and paralegals for the company in
defense of products liability.



 



Victor G. Grossman – Victor was found Well Qualified by
the Westchester Women’s Bar Association. 
He is a native of Scarsdale
who graduated from Scarsdale H.S.  For
over thirty years in private practice he has represented mothers, fathers and
children, non-profits, law enforcement officers and first responders and
victims of domestic violence.  Victor has
also worked for the Putnam County Land Trust in the preservation of open space
and acquisition of sensitive parcels of land. 
He has also worked as an Arbitrator in the White Plains City Court
hearing small claim matters.  Victor is
currently a member of the Grievance Committee of the Ninth Judicial District.  Victor also serves as a special prosecutor
who is appointed by the administrative judge in matters where the District
Attorney is disqualified.  He has earned
a reputation for fairness and hard work, as well as being well versed in the
law.



 



Alexander Eisemann – Alexander was found Well Qualified
by the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and Highly Qualified by the N.Y.S.
Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission.  He has over thirty years experience in civil
and criminal litigation.  He ser



 



ved seventeen years
as a federal mediator to help resolve civil cases in White Plains and N.Y.C. 



Alex provided free
legal services to the homeless and was appointed to represent indigent
defendants in federal criminal cases.  He
served as a former Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn.



 



County Court Judge (Vote for One)



David F. Everett – David was found Well Qualified by the
Westchester Women’s Bar Association.  He
has over thirty years experience as a lawyer with extensive criminal trial
court experience.  David’s legal career
includes courtroom experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn and
Queens, civil trial attorney, and defense
council.  David served as Chief of
Criminal Court Bureau, Homicide Trials Bureau in the Queens County District
Attorney’s office.  David is a retired Colonel, U.S.
Army Reserve with combat zone deployment in Afghanistan,
Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.  He was the Senior Military Advisor to the
Chief of Police of Kabul in 2009 and was the Principal Military Advisor to Iraq’s
Ministry of Interior’s Director of Internal Affairs. As well as the Executive
Officer, Mobile Army Surgical
Hospital during Desert
