GREENBURGH WELCOMES A NEW STORE--American Girl Resale Boutique Opens in Hartsdale

Find out what's happening in Scarsdalewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Dolls, dresses and accessories at a fraction of the price.
Forget dropping $80 on a Bitty Baby set for your little girl. At Girl AGain Boutique, a thrift store carrying only American Girls resale items, Bitty Babies are selling for $25. Located inside the Sweet Heaven Family Spa, where little girls can also get a mani/pedi, the shop-within-a-shop is selling lightly used American Girl dolls, outfits, furniture, books and accessories. Best of all, the shop is being operated by Yes She Can, Inc., which provides job skill development and employment for teenage girls and young women with autism.

“This is a terrific way to repurpose these popular, but expensive, dolls  — perhaps once loved but no longer played with — for a worthy cause,” says Yes She Can founder, Marjorie Madfis, who lives in White Plains.

The store will also host craft hours and tea parties. Best of all, the shop will encourage its young customers to interact with the dolls, which are unwrapped and posed in imaginative vignettes with all of their accessories.  Of course, American Girl lovers will  find all their favorite historic dolls and their furnishings here:  Kit with her orange crate scooter, Samantha with her school desk, Felicity with her horse, and Josefina with her adobe oven. There are dolls that represent “girls of today” with contemporary clothing including a cheerleading outfit, an Irish dancing costume, a basketball uniform and pajamas.  The shop has a collection of new and used books about the girls in history, as well as advice books on hair care and dealing with bullies.

Girl AGain Boutique is open  Saturday and Sunday, 10-5 p.m, Wednesday though Friday 11-5,
For more information, call (646) 833-8315.
Address is 157 South Central Avenue; Hartsdale

Know any new business in the town?  Please e mail me info about the business  I'd like to help welcome them to our town and encourage Greenburgh residents to support our local businesses.
If owners of new businesses feel that the town appreciates them-- word will spread that Greenburgh is a desirable place to open up a business. And, vacant stores will be replaced with vibrant new businesses.
