Edgemont School Bond Referendum Passes...Residents of the Edgemont school district voted to support the $12.8 million bond to address capital projects around the district. A referendum was held yesterday. Among initiatives: track and field renovations at the High school, artificial turf on the athletic field, lights for evening sports activities, bathrooms and disabled parking. Additionally, voters approved transfer of $360,000 from the unassigned fund balance to purchase and install a new fire alarm system. Earlier this week I sent letters to all the School Boards in Greenburgh suggesting separate Joint Town Board/School Board meeting with each of the school districts in our town to discuss ways that the town can be helpful to the schools located in our town. Many people move to our town because of the excellent schools. It's important that our town government and school districts work cooperatively.
Yes No Total:
Proposition 1: Capital projects bond 368 95 463
Proposition 2: Fire alarm transfer 393 37 430
