3 million dollars will be spent in 2014 on road repaving!

Entrance to the Town Court will be made more accessible to the disabled –stair and ramp currently are not compliant with the ADA code.

Supplemental boiler at the library   In recent years the heating system has not always worked at the library. The geothermal system has failed at times during the winter and the library had to shut down for a few days. A back up boiler will enable heat to be provided when the system fails. The library won’t shut down because of frigid temperatures inside the building!

We are purchasing the 2nd automated sanitation collection trucks that will reduce the need for labor to lift and dump containers from residential homes manually. The trucks use 1 employee, instead of 3 and offers collection efficiency and reduced potential for worker injuries. The trucks allow one operator to collect and unload specialized containers from residenetial properties without the physical needs to exist the vehicle and lift the container into the truck hopper.  The first truck will be delivered later this year.

We’re replacing our street lights with LED lights. Town spends $500,000 per year in electrical charges to power the street lights. We can reduce this expenditure by almost $300,000 annually after we replace all the street lights with LED fixtures.

We’re going to repair guide reails which provide safety to motorists from hazards should a vehicle veer off a roadway.

Rehabilitate existing water tanks

We’re going to clean water mains.  We’re going to rehabilitate manholes and sanitary sewers throughout the town.
