SALE DATE OF FRANK’S NURSERY TO BE DISCUSSED BY TOWN BOARD TUESDAY….YOUR ADVICE WANTED –should we hire a broker/auctioneer or conduct the sale ourselves?
The Greenburgh Town Board will discuss scheduling a date for the sale of Frank’s nursery on Dobbs Ferry Road at our work session on Tuesday. I anticipate that the sale of the property will take place around June, 2014. We have been showing the property to potential purchasers. About 10 potential purchasers have expressed interest in bidding on the property.

YOUR ADVICE WANTED---What makes the most sense for the town? We could conduct a silent auction ourselves, avoiding commissions to brokers or other third parties –possibly generating more revenue for the town. We could hire a commercial broker or professional auctioneer. Or, we could do an RFP on our own. If we hire a broker or professional auctioneer we might be able to interest businesses who we never thought of to submit a bid for the price. Please provide me with your advice asap since we want to move forward with the sale of the property quickly.
